LGBTQ+ DICTIONARY

Alright guys, it’s time to get your pen and paper. Time to take notes and see what this next post is all about. Today, we are going to discuss the meaning behind LGBTQ+. This will be your small dictionary. We are going to describe each one in depth.

LET US BEGIN!!

The first letter is L. L stands for lesbians. What is a lesbian? According to healthyplace.com “A lesbian is a woman who is attracted to another woman, this attraction can be

  • Physical
  • Emotional, or
  • Sexual”

As for me, I would be considered a lesbian. I love other women. I am physically, emotionally, and sexually attracted to other women. Lesbians only like women. We do not like men. Well, as friends “yes” but, attracted to them “no”.

The second letter is G. G stands for Gay. According to google, it means “(of a person) homosexual (used especially of a man). Also, according to google it means ” light hearted and free”. When you think of the word “Gay”, you might usually think of “carefree”, “cheerful”, “bright”, “showy” and “happy”. Usually alot of people use the saying “I AM GAY” a lot. It doesnt have to necessarily be towards man. Woman use that term as well.

The third letter is B. B stands for Bisexual. According to Merriam-Webster.com bisexual means “possessing characters of both sexes and especially both male and female reproductive structures : HERMAPHRODITIC”. Usually its alot of discussions about Bisexuals. Bisexuals plays a big part within the LGBTQ+ community well, that’s my opinion. You might think otherwise. Tell me if you do and why. Some people think that since you are Bisexual, you date both men and women at the same time. That’s not always the case. They date them at different times. Some people think that when you are Bisexual, you’ll always go back to men when dating women. That’s not always the case neither. You really have to be careful what you say to bisexuals because they will get offended. I was once a bisexual believe it or not. I was a bisexual before I realized that I was a lesbian. Some people think Bisexuals are confused and they are not. PLEASE STOP THINKING THAT PLEASE!! You will make a fool of yourself thinking that. Sorry not sorry.

The fourth letter is T. T stands for Transgender. According to livescience.com “Transgender is an umbrella term that describes people whose gender identity or expression does not match the sex they were assigned at birth”. So, let’s say someone is a male. They would be labeled transgender because they want to be a female. Simple, right? Usually people call them very “flamboyent”. According to Merriam-Webster.com flamboyant means “marked or given as strikingly elaborate or colorful display or behavior.” Its totally okay to be that way. I love transgenders because of the way they express themselves. It’s so awesome.

The last letter is Q. Q stands for Queer. According to bustle.com Queer means ” someone is not straight and or not cisgender.” I will be honest, I’m not too much of an expert on this one. I will just quote some things from bustle.com (if that’s alright with you). “Just as “queer” can mean different things to different people, so too can identifying as genderqueer. Being genderqueer isn’t limited to what you look like, or how you physically present.”

So, now that I described each one in different terms. I hope that you at least took some notes on this. I had fun doing my research on this just as much fun you had reading this. I hope that you leave your comments on the bottom and tell me your thoughts on this small LGBTQ+ DICTIONARY. I would really appreciate it. I am now signing out until tomorrow post. See you guys in the comments.
